Ceramic coating

What is ceramic coating?

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer we apply to your vehicle's exterior. It bonds to the paint and forms a hard, slick layer that sheds water, dirt and road grime. The result is a deeper gloss, easier washing and protection from UV rays, bird droppings, bug residue and acid rain.

How long does ceramic coating last?

Most coatings last between two and five years. The exact number depends on the product, how well the car was prepped, where it is parked and how it is washed. Gentle, regular maintenance helps it last longer.

Is ceramic coating worth it?

For most owners, yes. You pay more up front, but the car stays cleaner, washes in a fraction of the time and keeps its shine. Paint that is protected and well kept also holds its resale value better.

How much does ceramic coating cost?

Price depends on the size of your vehicle, the coating you choose and how much paint correction the paint needs before coating. Send us your vehicle details through the quote form and we will give you an exact price after we inspect the paint.

How do I maintain a ceramic coating?

Wash by hand with a pH-neutral shampoo and a clean microfiber mitt. Skip harsh chemicals and automatic car washes with brushes. A maintenance spray every six to twelve months keeps the coating performing at its best.

Can you ceramic coat auto glass?

Yes. A coating on the windshield and windows makes water bead and roll off, which improves visibility in the rain. It also keeps dirt and water spots from sticking, so the glass stays easier to clean.

Can you apply ceramic coating to any car?

Almost any car, as long as the paint is sound. The surface has to be cleaned, decontaminated and polished first. Damaged or failing paint should be repaired before coating so the coating can bond properly. Matte and satin finishes can be coated too, with a product made for them and without the polishing step, since polishing would turn the finish glossy.

How does ceramic coating protect my car?

It creates a hydrophobic layer on top of your clear coat. That layer resists UV fading and oxidation, blocks chemical staining and makes it hard for dirt to stick. Light swirl marks are less likely to form during washing, so the paint looks newer for longer.

What is the difference between ceramic coating and wax?

Wax is a temporary layer that wears off in weeks or months. Ceramic coating chemically bonds to the paint and lasts years. It is harder, more water-repellent and far more resistant to chemicals and UV than any wax.

Can I apply ceramic coating myself or do I need a professional?

You can buy consumer products and do it yourself, but results are much better from a professional. The prep work is where most of the quality comes from, and a coating that is applied unevenly can leave streaks or high spots that are difficult to fix.

Does ceramic coating scratch or chip?

It adds a layer of hardness that helps resist light scratches and swirl marks, but it does not make the paint bulletproof. Hard impacts and deep abrasions can still damage both the coating and the paint beneath it.

Ceramic coating vs. PPF: which do I need?

They do different jobs. Ceramic coating adds gloss and a slick, water-repellent surface. Paint protection film (PPF) is a thick, clear urethane that absorbs rock chips and physical damage. Many owners choose both: film on the high-impact areas and ceramic coating over everything.

Do I have to remove a ceramic coating?

No, you do not have to. Over time a coating wears down. When it stops performing, it can be professionally removed or refreshed so the paint underneath is not harmed.

Can you ceramic coat matte paint?

Yes, with a coating formulated for matte finishes. A regular gloss coating can change how matte paint looks, so the right product matters. A matte-safe coating keeps the flat look while adding protection against dirt and water.

Can you ceramic coat wheels?

Yes. A coating on the wheels helps repel brake dust and road grime so they wipe clean easily. It also protects the finish from staining and light scratching.

Can you ceramic coat plastic trim?

Yes. Coating bumpers, trim and mirrors helps block UV fading and staining, and it keeps the plastic looking fresh and easier to clean.

What does the prep process look like before a ceramic coating?

Prep is the most important part of the job and takes most of the labor hours, because the coating locks in whatever is under it. We start with a full decontamination wash, then use an iron remover and a clay treatment to lift bonded contaminants. Next we correct the paint to the level it needs, from a single-stage polish to full multi-stage correction. Finally every panel is wiped with a prep solution before the coating goes on, one panel at a time. A full install usually takes one to two days.

Do I need paint correction before ceramic coating?

In most cases, yes, at least some. A coating is clear, so it does not hide swirls, water spot etching or other defects. It often makes them more visible under the added gloss. Even new cars can pick up light swirling from lot prep and washing. We inspect every vehicle and recommend the right level of correction before we quote.

What warranty comes with ceramic coating?

Coatings carry a manufacturer warranty, and we stand behind our own workmanship, including contamination trapped in the coating and application defects that affect appearance. Terms vary by coating and package, and we will spell out exactly what applies to you in your quote.

Does ceramic coating protect against rock chips?

No. A coating is only microns thick and does not absorb impact. A rock chip goes through the clear coat and sometimes the paint beneath. Paint protection film is the product that takes the hit. For complete protection, we recommend PPF on high-impact areas and ceramic coating over the whole vehicle.

Can I put ceramic coating over PPF?

Yes, and we recommend it. A coating makes the film slicker and more water-repellent, so it washes easier and resists water spots and bonded contaminants. It does not change the film's impact protection or its self-healing properties.

Should I do PPF or ceramic coating first?

Film first, then coating. The film goes on the high-impact areas, such as the front bumper, hood, fenders and rocker panels. The coating then goes over the exposed paint and on top of most modern films. Putting film over an existing coating can reduce adhesion, so if your car is already coated we will inspect it and suggest the safest approach.

Will ceramic coating protect against storm damage or road debris?

Not from impact. Coating gives you a slick, chemical-resistant surface that handles salty air, hard-water residue, bug splatter and road grime. It cannot absorb hail, flying debris or gravel. If impact is the concern, paint protection film is the right tool, with ceramic coating on top for easier maintenance in Miami's heat and humidity.

How do I know if my coating needs to be reapplied or just decontaminated?

If water stopped beading, the cause is often bonded contamination on top of the coating, not failure of the coating itself. A proper decontamination with iron remover, clay and a coating-safe cleaner can bring the performance back. True failure shows up as rough paint after decontamination, thin spots or uneven gloss, or a coating that is several years old on a car parked outdoors. If you are not sure, bring it in and we will take a look.

Paint correction

What is paint correction?

Paint correction is the process of removing defects from your paint, such as swirl marks, light scratches, water spots and oxidation. We use machine polishers, compounds and pads to level the clear coat, which brings back clarity, depth and gloss.

How much does paint correction cost?

It depends on the size of the vehicle, how deep the defects go and how many correction stages the paint needs. We inspect the paint first, then quote the level of work that will actually get the result you want, so you do not pay for more than you need.

Can paint correction remove scratches?

It can remove or greatly reduce light to moderate scratches that sit in the clear coat. A scratch deep enough to catch your fingernail has usually gone through the clear coat and may need touch-up or body repair instead.

Is paint correction the same as polishing?

They are related. Polishing is the tool and the final refining step. Paint correction is the full process of assessing the paint, removing defects with a cutting stage if needed, and then polishing to a high gloss.

How do I know if my car needs paint correction?

Look at the paint in direct sunlight. Fine circular swirl marks, hazy or dull areas, water spot rings, faded patches or a rough feel after washing are all signs. If the paint no longer looks as glossy as it should, correction will likely help.

Can I do paint correction myself?

You can, but it takes the right machine, pads, compounds and plenty of practice. Without experience it is easy to burn through clear coat, leave holograms or add new scratches. A professional can measure the paint and work safely within what it can handle.

How long does paint correction take?

From several hours for a light single-stage polish to a day or more for a multi-stage correction on a larger vehicle or heavily damaged paint. We will give you a time estimate when we inspect the car.

Will paint correction remove swirl marks?

Yes. Swirl marks are shallow defects in the clear coat, and polishing levels the surface so they disappear. How much work it takes depends on how deep and widespread they are.

How often should paint correction be done?

Only when the paint needs it. Correction removes a thin layer of clear coat, so it should not be repeated unnecessarily. With good washing habits and a coating or film to protect the finish, many cars need it just once.

What does paint correction fix, and what can't it fix?

It fixes swirl marks from improper washing, water spot etching, light scratches in the clear coat, buffer trails from a previous poor polish and early oxidation. It does not fix deep scratches that go through the clear coat, stone chips or dents. Those need body repair first. We will tell you honestly what correction can and cannot do for your paint.

What is the difference between single-stage and multi-stage correction, and which does my car need?

Single-stage correction is one compound and pad combination, usually a finishing polish. It suits paint with light swirling and otherwise good condition. Multi-stage correction starts with a more aggressive cut to remove deeper defects, then follows with one or more finishing stages to refine the surface to full gloss. We check the paint thickness and inspect it under proper lighting before we recommend a level.

Do you wet sand, and when is it necessary?

When the defect calls for it. Machine polishing handles most clear coat problems, but deep scratches, heavy orange peel, runs from a previous respray or severe water spot etching can need wet sanding first. It removes more clear coat, so we use it selectively and only when polishing alone will not solve the problem.

Can paint correction remove water spot etching?

Light etching often polishes out. Moderate etching may need a more aggressive correction. Etching that has gone through the clear coat can't be polished away and needs spot refinishing. The only way to know for sure is an in-person inspection under good lighting.

PPF / Clear bra

What is PPF?

Paint protection film (PPF), often called clear bra, is a thick, clear urethane film applied to your paint. It protects against rock chips, scratches, stains and environmental damage, and it is nearly invisible once installed.

What brand of PPF do you use, and how do I choose the right film?

We install premium films from leading manufacturers, and the right one depends on your goals. A gloss clear film suits most vehicles. A satin or matte film suits matte factory paint or a satin look. Colored films change the vehicle's appearance while still protecting the paint. Tell us your paint finish, whether you want a new look and your budget, and we will recommend a film.

How much does PPF cost?

Price depends on the vehicle, the film and how much coverage you want, from a partial front package to the full body. Send us your vehicle details through the quote form and we will price it after looking at the car.

How long does PPF last?

A quality film typically lasts five to ten years, depending on the film, how the car is stored and how it is maintained. Regular gentle washing helps it last.

Can you apply PPF to any car?

Almost any vehicle, whether it is a daily driver, a luxury car or a sports car. We can cover just the front end, the doors and mirrors, or the whole car.

Does PPF protect against rock chips?

Yes. Film is designed to absorb the impact of road debris so the paint underneath does not chip. It is the most effective protection against rock chips, which ceramic coating alone can't provide.

Can you see the PPF once it is applied?

A professional install is almost invisible. Gloss films blend with the paint. Satin films change the finish slightly, on purpose. Panel edges are tucked or finished so they are hard to spot.

Does PPF yellow over time, even in Miami's sun?

Modern premium films are much more resistant to yellowing than older ones. Strong sun is a real test for any exterior material, so film quality matters, as does how the car is parked and how it is washed. We will help you choose the right film for your parking situation and driving habits.

How do I maintain PPF?

Wash with a mild pH-balanced soap and a clean microfiber mitt. Avoid abrasive tools and automatic washes with brushes. Adding a ceramic coating on top makes the film easier to clean. If you notice lifting edges or damage, bring it in for a touch-up.

Is PPF worth the investment?

If you want to keep your paint looking new, yes. It guards against chips and scratches that are costly to repair and helps preserve the finish and resale value.

What is matte or satin PPF?

It is a clear film with a satin finish. It is made for vehicles with matte or satin factory paint, and it can also give a gloss paint a satin look while protecting it.

What is colored PPF, and can it be removed later?

Colored PPF is a film that comes in a range of colors and finishes, so you can change the look of the vehicle while still getting paint protection. When it is in good condition, a professional can remove it later and the factory paint underneath is preserved.

Is PPF harmful to my paint?

No, not when it is installed correctly on healthy paint. Problems come from poor installation, such as trapped dirt or moisture, which is why a professional install matters. Paint with a poor respray or weak adhesion should be checked first.

Do you use a plotter or hand-cut PPF?

We use whichever method gives the cleanest result for your car. A digital plotter gives precise, repeatable patterns without a blade touching the paint. Some complex curves, custom coverage and edge-wrapping jobs come out better with careful hand finishing.

Does a full-body PPF install require disassembly?

For a truly seamless install, some disassembly is standard. We remove items such as bumper covers, door handles, mirrors and trim so the film can be tucked behind panels instead of cut at visible edges. Tucked edges look better and last longer, because there is less room for moisture and debris to get under the film.

What warranty does PPF come with?

Film carries a manufacturer warranty against yellowing, cracking, blistering and delamination, and we back our installation work. That covers edge lifting, contamination trapped under the film and other defects caused by the install. If something looks wrong because of how it was installed, we make it right. Exact terms depend on the film, and we will confirm them in your quote.

What is a highway PPF package, and is it enough?

A highway package covers the surfaces that face the most chips at speed, typically the hood or its leading edge, front bumper, fender edges, headlights and mirrors. If you drive highways often, it covers most of the real-world risk for much less than a full-body install. It is also a good starting point, since you can add doors, rockers or the rest of the body later.

Does PPF self-heal in warm weather?

Many premium films have a top coat that heals light surface marks with warmth, so in Miami's heat, light swirls and towel marks often fade on their own. Deep scratches, rock chips and gouges won't heal. Good wash technique still matters.

Can I get PPF on just one or two panels?

Yes. A targeted install makes sense for a panel with an existing chip, or a high-wear spot like a door edge or cargo area. Per-panel pricing is higher than the per-area price in a package, because the setup and prep are the same either way. If a bigger package would serve you better, we will tell you up front.

Window tint

What is ceramic window tint?

Ceramic window tint is a film made with nano-ceramic particles instead of dye or metal. It blocks a large share of the sun's heat and UV rays and cuts glare, and because it contains no metal it does not interfere with GPS, cell phone, radio or Bluetooth signals. It also holds its color and clarity longer than traditional dyed film.

How much does window tint cost?

Price depends on the film you choose, the size of the vehicle and how many windows are being done. Ceramic film costs more than basic dyed film, and larger vehicles take more material and time. Send us your vehicle details through the quote form and we will price it after confirming what you want.

How long does window tint last?

A quality film can last many years. Ceramic films tend to last longest because they resist fading, bubbling and turning purple. Care and quality of installation matter, and a reputable film comes with a manufacturer warranty.

Is window tint legal in Florida?

Yes, within the limits of the law. Florida sets rules on how dark the film can be, which differ for the front side windows, rear side windows and rear window and can depend on the type of vehicle. There are also limits on how reflective the film can be, and the windshield can only be tinted in a strip near the top. We will go over the legal limits for your specific vehicle before we install anything. Check the current state rules if you want to confirm them yourself.

Can window tint be removed?

Yes. A professional can remove old film with heat and steam without damaging the glass or the rear defroster lines. Removing it yourself can leave behind adhesive residue and scratches, so it is better done by a shop.

How dark should I go, and what percentage is best for privacy?

The lower the VLT percentage, the darker the film and the more privacy it gives. Balance the look you want with the legal limit for each window and how comfortable you are driving at night. Many people choose a darker shade on the back windows for privacy and a lighter one up front for visibility. We can show you samples against the glass so you can see the difference.

Does window tint block UV rays?

Yes. Quality ceramic films block close to all UV rays. That protects your skin and keeps your seats, dashboard and trim from fading and cracking.

How do I care for window tint?

Do not roll your windows down for a couple of days after installation so the film can fully cure. After that, clean with a soft microfiber cloth and an ammonia-free glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemicals. Small hazy spots or water pockets right after install are normal and clear up as the film cures.

Can I tint my windows myself?

You can buy a kit, but tint takes skill and a very clean environment. Dust, creases, bubbles and uneven edges are common with DIY work, and a mistake means starting over. A professional install gives a cleaner finish and a better-lasting result.

Can you tint a windshield?

Only a strip across the top of the windshield, above the manufacturer's AS-1 line, and it generally has to be non-reflective. Tinting below that line is not permitted. Some shops also offer clear, high-performance heat-rejecting film for the full windshield where the law allows. Ask us what is legal for your vehicle.

Does window tint block radio or GPS signals?

Ceramic tint does not, because it has no metal in it. Older metallic films can interfere with signals, which is one reason ceramic is the better choice for modern vehicles.

What brand and type of window tint do you use?

We install high-performance ceramic window films from leading manufacturers, backed by a manufacturer warranty. If you would like a specific brand or performance level, ask us when you request a quote and we will go through the options for your vehicle and budget.

Do you cut window tint with a plotter or by hand?

Both, depending on the window. A plotter gives precise patterns without a blade touching the glass. Rear windows with strong compound curves often come out better with a skilled installer heat-shaping the film so it lies flat without creases. We use whichever method gives the cleanest result on your vehicle.

What is the difference between TSER and IR rejection?

TSER (total solar energy rejected) measures the share of the sun's total energy the film blocks, including visible light, infrared and UV. It is the most useful single number for comparing films. IR rejection measures only the infrared portion, which is where much of the felt heat comes from, but the figures are measured in different ways by different brands, so treat them as a secondary data point.

Is IR rejection the same as heat rejection?

Not exactly. Heat rejection in real-world comfort is better described by TSER, or by SHGC (solar heat gain coefficient). Two films can claim similar IR numbers and still feel different on a hot day. When you compare films, look at both the shade and the TSER or SHGC data.

Can I get window tint and PPF at the same time?

Usually, yes. They go on different surfaces, so they do not conflict. We install PPF first, since it goes on the exterior paint, and then tint the glass. The main factors are scheduling and PPF cure time, but it is a common combination, particularly for new cars getting a full protection package.
